A New York Dutch interior for the American Wing

Pl. X. Peter Daniel Winne (baptized 1699-d. 1759) house, Bethlehem, New York, built c. 1725. Note the use of leaded glass in the transom window over the doorway. A generation later leaded glass windows, used since the time of Renaissance in the Netherlands, gave way to ones with wood muntins, like those in the transom above the front door of the Daniel Peter Winne's house (see Pl. II). Photograph by Geoffrey Gross.
